A young policewoman finds herself leading her first murder investigation in this new detective drama, based on the bestseller by “queen of crime” Val McDermid.
Outlander actress Lauren Lyle stars as Karen Pirie, who is asked to reopen the case of a girl’s brutal murder in the Scottish university town of St Andrews, which took place 25 years earlier.
As the mystery unfolds, Karen has to contend with a messy fling with a colleague and a new wet-behind-the-ears partner. Meanwhile, we flash back to the events of 1996 and uncover the secret someone is now prepared to risk everything to keep.
